I'm excited to introduce you to Living in Port Townsend & Beyond.

Port Townsend is a small waterfront Victorian arts and entertainment town with plenty of local recreational and shopping opportunities. So why Beyond?

Our region is divided by bays and inlets, mountains and rivers. The geography creates many small communities and neighborhoods, all unique but closely tied together. Port Townsend is also part of the larger Olympic Peninsula and its Kitsap County neighbor across the Hood Canal Bridge. That means access to even more great things to do, places to shop and eat and people to meet. Its easy to have family and friends spread out in the region. Knowing activities and nearby places to go will help you get together and make new friends too.

Heading south from Port Townsend, we'll explore Port Hadlock, Chimacum and Port Ludlow, and going east across the bridge we'll explore Port Gamble, Kingston, Poulsbo, Silverdale, Bremerton and Port Orchard. A bit further and we might visit Belfair and Gig Harbor. Heading west from Port Townsend we will check in on Sequim and Port Angeles out on the Olympic Peninsula. All within 1-1.5 hours of Port Townsend. Shhh - you can even reach the big cities of Seattle and Tacoma, but that is further beyond…

The water ways tend to have a north - south orientation, so an area just a short distance by the way a crow flies, might take a bit longer than you think since you have to "drive around" the water way unless you have a boat, kayak or paddle board. We have towns with long and rich histories as well as recently growing communities that were mostly forest or pasture just a decade or two ago.

I hope to give you some insights into the area I grew up in: the Kitsap and Olympic Peninsula region.  This is just a taste of all there is to do and explore. So whether you visit for work or vacation, or decide to live and work here, you'll find some videos, and links to resources. This area is my home and I am happy to share more information about it. Information is organized below by Kitsap Peninsula and Olympic Peninsula.
